Our last week on Texas’ Coastal Bend

Sandollar_site38_JulianneGCraneI’m going to miss looking out my computer window at site #38 at the Sandollar RV Park on the Coastal Bend of Texas.

We’ve been here nearly four weeks and it’s almost time to begin our slow snowbird migration back to the west coast. Then, later this spring, after work camping April and May in central California, we’ll gradually move north to the Pacific Northwest.

Sandollar_YardSale_JS_Myron_JulianneGCraneWe’ll also miss the small-community feel of this RV park, where there are park-wide yard sales, spontaneous pot lucks, and good people like Myron Scott of Hill City, Kansas. Myron and his wife, Alberta, were our ‘next door’ neighbors last year. Married 44 years, this is their fourth year as Winter Texans in their 2005 28-foot Thor Jazz travel trailer.

Other friends, many from the Midwest, are starting to count the days until the crocus start to bloom, drawing them back home.
