Doing an over-night turn-around trip to the Portland-Vancouver area this weekend to do a presentation at a Saturday ‘Afternoon Tea’ fundraising event to benefit the Pacific Crest Academy and Habitat for Humanity’s Women Build.
While I’m staying in the cushy Fairgate Inn in Camas, Wash., (where the fund-raising event is being held), I spotted a number of campgrounds on my drive down.
One of them is the Two Rivers County Park located on the right bank of the Columbia River at River Mile (RM) 325, just southeast of Kennewick, Washington.
Another is Avery Park, a tiny campground off Washington State Route 14 between mile markers 89 and 90 on the northside of the Columbia River. A US Army Corps of Engineers‘ park, it has an incredible view of Mount Hood.
