‘Tons’ of Steelhead still running up Idaho’s Salmon, Little Salmon Rivers

Even in foul weather, scores of Steelhead fishers vie for space on both sides of a small bridge next to the Little Salmon Lodge on Pollock Road off Hwy. 95, about ten miles south of Riggins, Idaho.

A couple of fellas up from Boise commented that there are “tons” of fish being pulled out of the Little Salmon River. Steelhead are expected to run through the end of April.

A recent posting on Idaho Fish ‘n Hunt.com reports on the Little Salmon River (Riggins Stream Flow): “Now, (that) flows here are dropping and with lots of fish in the river it should be great fishing, of course that’s as long as they don’t get any rain. Bait works but corkies and yarn works well too, and maybe you should check out trout bead fishing.”

RVs of all types are dry camping along the Little Salmon from Riggins to New Meadows. Several commercial RV parks are available. Click here for Riggins-area ‘RV Park Reviews.’
