Being members of the Escapees RV Club and being that we were traveling along I-40 in Tennessee … it was a given that we would head for the Raccoon Valley RV Park a few miles north of Knoxville.

There are no reservations and the RVer in front of me snagged the last site with hook-ups. All together there are 68 sites, most pull-thrus with 50 amp service. We, however, were happy to get a dry camping spot along the back perimeter of the park. When traveling and it’s late in the day, this safe spot off the busy Interstate is welcomed.

The park hosts a social hour most days at 4 p.m. in the Activity Center. Popular amenities for the traveling RVer are the laundry room, bathhouse with showers and restroom facilities, walking trails, WiFi and dog park.

BTW: One does not need to be an Escapees member to park here. In fact, it appeared that many of the renters were working full time. (Call the park for information on rates.)
