I can now say I’ve seen both Stonehenge in England and Carhenge in Nebraska.
Come to think of it I was at both places within hours of the Fall Equinox, five years apart. Life is amazing.
On a windy Sept. 21 of this year, Jimmy and I pulled our truck and camper into the sandy parking lot by Carhenge to see this wonderful, whimsical car sculpture tribute to Stonehenge. It has been sitting for almost 30 years in the middle of a cornfield on the high plains in northwest Nebraska.
At the official start of autumn in 2007. my cousin, Ruth Ridolfo of Columbus, Ohio, and I were on a tour of sacred places in England and Ireland. On Sept. 22, 2007, we visited Stonehenge to celebrate the Fall Equinox. (That’s Ruth pictured on the right, I’m in the black hat.) It was windy that day, too.
