We are hunkered down at the Nehalem Bay State Park just one sand dune away from the mighty Pacific Ocean. Even on a stormy weekend on the northern coast of Oregon, this extremely popular family campground is packed.
Jimmy and I had reservations for one night and wanted to stay for two, so when I checked in with the ranger, he said there was only one site (out of 265) open for both nights. ‘Site’ unseen, I handed over $29 for the extra night.
