Lake Havasu City lures RV Snowbirds with free sunshine, low cost fun, pyrotechnics
Lake Havasu City is one tourist mecca that boasts 300 days a year of sunshine and offers a packed schedule of free and low-cost activities to keep visitors happy.
A magical annual event that draws several thousands each Presidents Weekend, Feb. 16-19, 2017, is the Western Winter Blast Pyrotechnic Show.
RV camping during the Winter Blast is available at the Rodeo Grounds. Campers can enjoy a great concert on Saturday, Feb. 18, 3:30-6:30 p.m. and admission is free for all campers. Also, Rodeo Grounds campers, eat up before the concert with a Cowboy BBQ Dinner with all the fixin’s, 4-5:30 p.m., cost is still only $10/person. (Sorry, camping is full for 2017 event. Plan for next year.)
Fireworks Start: 5 p.m.-10:30 p.m. nightly, Thurs-Sun (Sunday show ends at 10pm).
Organized Show Segments (professional, big fireworks displays): 7:30 p.m. Thurs-Sun and run approx. one hour. Largest single show Saturday night.
Gates Open: 3 p.m. daily
Parking: $5/passenger vehicle (RVs are not permitted into general parking area.)
Gates Open: 3 p.m. daily person (kids 12 and under free)
Parking Location: Thursday-Sunday (Google maps: Havasu 95 Speedway and ball field parking lots)
