After several days dry camping at the Hot Spring Long Term Visitor Area that sits on Bureau of Land Management desert land about 50 miles west of Yuma, we were in need of a good shower and laundry.
We headed for Yuma, Ariz., and the Kofa Ko-op RV Retreat, an Escapees RV Club Members Only RV park. All visitors have full access to the clubhouse, pool, spa, laundry, shower and other facilities including two pretty decent pool tables. Visitors are encouraged to participate in park activities including ice cream socials on Sunday afternoon and water aerobics at 9 a.m. weekdays.
According to the website: “Space is a premium mid-January to mid-March so, a pristine dry camping overflow area is available with average lot waiting periods of 48 hours.” The boondocking area is located near the 24-hour laundry and showers.
All rental lots that are availability, are on a ‘first come – first served’ basis only.
Rates:
Boondock/dry camp: $7.50 per day + tax (7-day limit)
Full service sites:
– Daily — $20 + electricity and tax
– Weekly — $100 + electricity and tax
Electricity rate — $0.1325/kwh.
