After a few weeks picking our way through the southwest (more posts on that to follow) we find ourselves resting for a couple days on the edge of the Coachella Valley in southern California nestled against the foothills of the Little San Bernardino Mountains and Joshua Tree National Park.

RVer Jimmy Smith reflects: “We have been out for months and months, again plying the nation’s little roads.  I’m never sure how to frame what it is we do.  We fit into some loose category of sojourners sometimes called RVers, or wandering homeless, or some other yet defined group of tribesmen off seeking sustenance and solar encouragement during the dark months of winter.”
