Politicos rift on RV plates

Jeff Mapes of The Oregonian newspaper in Portland wrote recently in his ‘Mapes on politics’ blog:

“I guess if you rent an RV or bus, you’ll never know where it comes from. Back in September (2007), House Speaker Jeff Merkley got dinged for using a motorhome with Washington license plates on the kickoff tour of his Senate campaign.

“Now, the Washington Republican Party is complaining that Washington Gov. Chris Gregoire is doing a campaign tour around the state on a bus that – horror of horrors – has an Oregon plate. Well, if nothing else, it sounds like the balance of trade between the two states is now equal when it comes to campaign vehicles.”
